Major Progress on Railroad Bridge

The photos below show crews getting ready to assemble the structural ironwork atop new piers over the Tygarts Valley River, just south of downtown Elkins, when the rail line was being rebuilt into Elkins in the Fall of 2006.

The restored bridge now carries excursion trains full of tourists and old train enthusiasts past the Darden Mill to the Elkins Depot. (Just visible to the left and beyond the tall gray mill, in the first picture.)
